There is a good article about RSL Coach, John Ellinger in today's SL Trib:

It's impossible not to like this guy, and you also get the impression that he's a legendary coach just waiting to happen. RSL is his opportunity.

This is professional sports, though, and he has to deliver. Same with any coach. But what a breath of fresh air to have your team headed up by a coach you can respect for both his soccer smarts and his humility. What a rare combination.

"Nearly half of RSL's players have already played under him in some capacity, with one or another of the United States' developmental programs. And Freddy Adu, Landon Donovan, DaMarcus Beasley and Tim Howard all have played for Ellinger. "

Wouldn't it be cool if Landon came to Salt Lake?

👍

Bottom line: Ellinger is a class act and I expect great things of him and our team!

We are certainly lucky to have him. He is first class, just like the rest of the organization. Checketts really seems to know what he is doing. We have the best owner, FO, and coach in the league.

Now, let’s hope we have the best team as well…

Amen. I left them off for now, but by the end of the season, I'm sure they will be included in that list as well. Just because they haven't proven themselves the best yet, doesn't mean that they aren't.
