Final week in Redlands, California; Cila & Novak score Keeping tabs (from the SL Trib)
The second team scrimmaged a club team from California, Orange County Blue Star, on Wednesday morning. The Blue Star has played the Galaxy, Los Angeles' MLS team, in the past. Real Salt Lake won the scrimmage 4-2. Three different players scored (Jordan Cila, Adam Acosta and Kevin Novak) and Blue Star had an own-goal. "The attacking players have done very well,” Ellinger said. "They're knocking on the door to contribute for the top team.” Dunseth, a regular starter for RSL in the preseason, entered the game at the second half but was ejected less than five minutes in after receiving a red card. Dunseth protested a non-call, excessively according to the referee crew. . . . Today's practice will be the team's last in California. RSL leaves for Tulsa, Okla., after the workout. RSL plays Kansas City on Friday in its final game of the preseason, before returning to Salt Lake next week. . . . The team will have its first practice on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Spence Eccles Fieldhouse on the University of Utah campus. The session is open to the public. | |||||
