Radio Stations - duplicate thread? I could have sworn that I saw a thread on this?
Or maybe we aren't supposed to know about this yet........ But I was in the RSL office to pay for my Miniplan. I picked up a schedule. It mentions that all games, home and away, will be on 1280 AM in English and 1600 AM in Spanish.

Wonder who the announcers will be. Do we have any info on that?
Probably Ryan Hatch, right? 😉

Wow I had not heard that at all! Veeeery interesting. Doesn't 1280 have a deal with Channel 2? Maybe that's where the TV coverage will be?
Bordy my response to your Hatch suggestion is contained in the rep I gave you. I guess I'll have to get out my old P1 card... __________________

You must have been listening to Rick Davis & Joe Tutino call Galaxy games..... Here's a 3 way trade that would be a Win Win Win...... -The Galaxy fire Sampson as their coach. -Then they hire Rick Davis to coach so they don't have to listen to him on the radio. -Then Sampson comes here to announce our games in Spanish. He speaks better Spanish than most players I've heard interviewed on Radio Unica/Telemundo/Univision/etc. One of the announcers on the RSL/Crew match on Telemundo was the sports guy on 1640 AM. Maybe 1600 & 1640 are run by the same company? I can't listen to that music they play on 1600. This is not 1956 and I am not in an elevator in Guadalajara.

I've listened to soccer on the radio a few times (in France, and broadcast over the radio in French), and it really does take some knowledgeable announcers to be able to give you a good feel for what's going on. I just don't know who RSL would get to do that.
Either way, hopefully I don't have to ever listen to any games on the radio. 😉

Ryan Hatch is a Jackmule.
While we're at it, Stalin was kind of a bad guy. __________________

You are intent on bringing up every bad memory for a SoCal soccer fan, aren't you? My kids still mock a Davis call after the ball goes into touch: "In my opinion, looking at it in a soccer context, taking into consideration the fatigue factor a this point in the game and the level of play sustained by the Galaxy vis a vis their opponent, who in this case would be the Fire, whose record in just such situations as this requires careful consideration of their motivation despite their effort thus far in this particular game, regarding any attempt by the Galaxy to ensure a tactical approach that maximizes their intentions . . ." Meanwhile, two goals have been scored. Thanks for the memories.
