I am the guilty slacker... but SoccerPrime I did send a report to you to post to theloyalists.com.
So here is the text for everyone to read and enjoy... Tuesday March 22, 2005 Morelia at 60th South State Street proved gracious hosts to latest Loyalist meeting. We would like to thank all who attended the meeting and shared their thoughts and ideas. Here are a few things we kicked around: CarsMart is going to be an official Loyalist sponsor. The owner has a cousin by the name of Paul Scholes that is a decent soccer player. He is an Englishman who wants to see soccer done right and wants to help us do it. So we brainstormed some ideas about things that we would like to see if he can help us get: A couple BBQ grills for tailgates, hooded Loyalist Sweatshirts for cold weather games, hats and banners for the Loyalist section and a fog machine to name a few. Also, we are in the process of figuring out if the potential sponsorship with Adidas makes sense for us to pursue further. We also talked about bringing on Team Gear as our official store, although, that is still in the final negotiation stage. Some things they have put on the table are: 20% discount on gear purchased, host Loyalist meetings, soccer Saturday pickup games and a few others. We hope to be able to release the exact details at our next meeting. Another hot topic was banners. We discussed several ideas and ultimately decided we need several banners to do it right. We want to do a banner for the section that is red with a blue crown and the wording, “The Loyalists: www.theloyalists.com ". Also we want to have “Kreis Counter” banner made, with soccer balls with numbers to track the leagues all-time leading scores total as he approaches and then passes the 100 goal mark. The Rocky Mountain Cup is having O.C. Tanner design and make a trophy. And we are looking at trying to arrange road trips for games on Colorado. During Real Week leading up to our home opener we plan on supporting events coordinated by the team as much as work/family will allow. Also, the night before the home opener we are going to make ourselves known at channel 2 during one of their news broadcasts. Last, but not least we will be out in mass to attend the “The Game of Their Lives” premier event at the Gateway. Membership will be draft to draft and non-transferable. To preserve the integrity of membership perks we need to keep those things sacred and not pass around information on things such as discounts. We already have people claiming to be Loyalists in an effort to scam RSL out of a discount on season tickets (we are in the process of getting our lists in sync with RSL’s so the additional money can be collected from those who think they have beaten the system). Also, we are getting details together on family Loyalist memberships. For $30 a family can join and get two t-shirts (others available at cost plus $1 approximately), along with all other benefits for the entire family. At the age of 18 you can no longer be claimed under your parents membership… at that age you can vote and therefore need your own Loyalist membership. Also, MLS is sponsoring a supporter’s competition. For our part we will be asked to sell tickets for our August 6 game against Chivas. The basis idea is that we will sell tickets to the game starting 6 weeks before the game. We will keep a portion of the tickets sale price to support Loyalist functions. Also, we will be competing against other supporters groups to sell the most. The group that sells the most will get a party thrown by MLS and its major sponsors and be featured in next years MLS national ads. At certain sales numbers we will get items such as autographed balls and jerseys from the All-Star game to use as part of an auction to further raise money. We will have an area at the stadium for Loyalist tailgates and parking. The tail gates will be coordinated by Jason Cox. Last edited by SoccerPrime : 03-23-2005 at 10:39 AM. It was a great meeting and a pleasure meeting everyone that was there. I look forward to getting to know all of you better in the days, months, and years to come. It's really nice to be able to put faces with names, even if I can't remember them all now. 🙂

My dues have just been paid. I feel free!
What was the announcement that was made about future meetings? Was it the Team Gear thing? | |||||

👍 Welcome. How does it feel to be part of the IN crowd, now? And how will it feel to be part of the IN crowd at the games? Huh? Huh? This IS the place!
