Ramirez heading home

Too bad for all those new sc season ticket holders--one of the two marquee Daddy Cheetos players that Uncle Jorge brought in is heading home:

Good thing they still have the other marquee guy, Francisco Palencia.

Oh wait, Palencia was sent back to Mexico months ago. Will the last CDG player to leave sc please turn out the lights.

This team is all marketing, marketing, marketing. Unfortunately, there's an MLS season coming up where sc will have to actually play games against real teams.

Wonder if this is going over well at MLSHQ. Too late to change the "First Kick" matchup?

The link isn't working for me.

But this just goes to show that the Cheetos are really going to suck. I wonder what their best apologist Connolly will have to say about this.

His nanny! Are you kidding me? Either he really didn't want to play here or she is smokin' hot.

Besides, since when do nannies have to have visas? :D

Why doesn't she just go to Macarthur Park in LA or State & 7th in Salt Lake? For $50, she can have a visa that says that she's Penelope Cruz.

But if you are really a Chivas Hater, this is bad news.

Ramon was a stud in the 90's. Personally, I think that Ramon was as good as anyone from Brazil or Argentina.

But Ramon Ramirez/Chivas USA = Willie Mays/New York Mets, Joe Montana/Kansas City Chiefs.

Now, Goats Lite can bring in someone younger, cheaper, healthier & better. Which is 99% of the Mexican League.

I love running Jeonju & Columbus smack as much as the next guy, but Mexican players really are good. The only thing that can stop them is their moron coaches.

If Chivas fire Rongen; all bets are off & you can write their name on North American Pro Sports Ugliest Trophy.

Don't think so.

If Mexican players were all that good, they'd be making the REALLY big bucks in Europe, just like the best of Argentina, Brazil . . . and the USA.

And the best will not come to MLS for the cut in pay. They can make a very good living in Mexico. So much so that there's a movement in Mexico to limit or even prohibit foreign players--the Argentines are taking over!

Mexican soccer is overrated, just like American soccer is underrated. It's not just about Jeonju and Columbus. Mexico is one of the best soccer nations, at least in support. But by every other measure, from World Cup results to quality of the national league, they are second tier. We are too. The difference is that we acknowledge the fact.
