Loyalists in the north endzone

I'm looking to change where I am sitting in the north endzone and am wondering if there are any other Loyalists that I can sit by? I'm too cheap to spring for the corner section so if you are also sitting in north section and wouldn't mind having someone screaming along side you then let me know.

On a side note, when are the Loyalists planning on holding their annual meeting?

if all else fails you can always come sit by us anyway and return to your seat in north end if asked

Yeh, just buy a ticket in the North End and then you can just sneak over into our section. I have actually bought tickets for the "KFC Cornel's Corner" (which I think were only $12) and then just went to E32 without a problem.

The RES people don't even ask to see your tickets when you go into E32, they probably ask themselves why anyone would want to go into E32 if they didn't have a ticket there already. E32 has to be the worst section in the stadium when it comes to comfort since I think it is the last section in the stadium to get the shade as the sun goes down.

With regards to a Loyalists meeting, I don't know. Is there one even being planned?

I haven't heard jack about renewals or meetings yet. I'm also considering season ticket options this year, so perhaps I'll join you Topher, in the North End Zone. Maybe we can shoot for N26 which is only about 10 yards from E32, and then we can be part of the chants and perhaps help "spread the love" farther into the north end zone sections?

I sometimes wonder what is going to happen to the Loyalists. Everyone seems to have gone off in different directions. I'm sure we can survive without meetings but when people don't even post anymore you wonder if anyone is even out there anymore.

I want to be part of a group and stand during the games, that is for sure. I've taken family to the games before and sat on the West side in the shade and even though I had fun I yearned to stand and scream "hey!......hey!"

But I don't know, things are fading away alittle bit.

Be of good cheer young lad.

Wait until the first game...my guess is that unless the FO messed up and sold e32 tickets to people who aren't aware of how the loyalists work (that NEVER happened in 38), you'll have at least as many people as last year.

(American Idol commercial break)

It's not just the Loyalists though, I wonder about everyone sometimes. There are very few people that post anymore. Just go into the Members List and there are alot of names there that have just disappeared.

And then also in the stadium, the first year there were three or four small supporter groups that started besides the Loyalists and the RCB but they're gone now.

Now all of this doesn't mean there are less fans than before, but you just wonder sometimes if people are turning into "plastic fans".

I'm wondering the same thing, cup. Now that the stadium nonsense is dying down, and focus is slowly starting to be redirected towards the team, it would be a good time for a headcount/planning/grass roots re-focusing period.

Glenn has posted a few things on theloyalists.com, but nothing really specific.

I think that one of the main things that needs to be resolved is the confusion that seems to exist in the communication between the supporters group(s) and the FO, particularly concerning seating arrangements.

1) Can anyone with a ticket come over to E32 (or E38)? Seems like the answer to this has gone from "yes, absolutely" to "no" to "kind of, as long as they're not coming from a cheaper section" to "as long as no one notices". A definitive answer would be nice here.

2) If the answer to #1 is "no, people can move, but not to more expensive seats", I wouldn't mind a move to an endzone section.

3) If the answer to #1 is "no, people need to sit in their assigned seats", then the FO needs to pull the stick out of their non-sunshiny side.

4) Will the FO help in blocking off the section and making it a "supporter club section"?

5) If we can get our own supporters section -- for realsies this time -- then the we can safely recruit people over there. Word of mouth, flyers, whatever.

Seems like there hasn't been a really clear answer to any of this, and that there have been promises that haven't exactly been followed through on. And sentences that end in two prepositions. You can't tell me that this confusion hasn't impeded the supporters from gathering momentum.

In any case, I'll come sit next to you cup, and we can be the Loyalists this year.

As a member of the Loyalist board of directors, let me say that the Loyalists are not Dead. I think many of us, like you Cup, have migrated away to Bigsoccer mainly. I only check this site once a week or so these days, because no one ever posts much any more.

Glenn is still as committed as ever to making the Loyalists great. An annual meeting will surely be forthcoming as we get closer to the season. I believe last years meeting was somewhere in the middle to end of march. There will be a new shirt, and all that stuff.

The answer to your question Bordy about the seat jumping is this. As long as we play in Rice-Eccles Stadium, the front office cannot control what the ushers will do. Maybe they'll say something, maybe they won't. Usher #1 won't give a crap, and usher #2 is a Nazi. Usher #3 doesn't care today, next week he's a Nazi, then the week after he doesn't care. The team can't control anything one way or another. But I say this---Come to E32 this season and join the fun. I don't care what you paid for. Come join us. If they kick you out, wait a few minutes, then come back when they're not looking. Keep coming every week.

I say this every time, I have a LOT of flags. I think I have something like fourteen flags in my basement. I bring them every week. I want people to be waving them. Then, on top of that, I have a 30 foot by 18 foot drape over flag that I store in my drum. So come and be a part of the craziness.

If you have an idea for a chant, or whatever, talk to me, I have a drum, and I can get it started for you. My drum is really loud, it makes people listen.

The Loyalists had a meeting with Jessica Edstrom who is the Supporter's Group Liason at the Front Office, and I asked if we could hand out flyers to people in the stadium to convince them to migrate to our section. She said go for it. So I will.

Keep the faith Cup. The Loyalists still live. We are all like you, we're busy, have families, and a lot to do. Sometimes that means that Internet Message Boards get left on the lower end of the priority list. But we're here, and we will be here every year that Real Salt Lake exists. Come sit with me and Cup, Bordy, we'll be the Loyalists this year. Along with Loyal1 and son, Aero and family, Stucki and family, Jim Umber, Rabble-Rabble, Czar Jake....

We're all here...you're not alone....you're never alone....
