Hmmm.... I remember a study on visibility a few years ago. Maybe it was the same one? Anyway they found that people couldn't pick out certain colors very well, especially at their perifery [sic]. The best colors were yellow and black for visibility. Maybe red is visibile enough and popular enough to pull in the wins.
