Now that my Jr. High GPA hiked a bit (just like ticket prices!!) I decided to coin a new phrase for my sig.

So, you're saying I should take all of your comments as a compliment? That's hard to do.

That arguement goes like this:
When you buy a ticket you get a game.
If the game pleases you you buy more tickets.
If the game displeases you, stop buying tickets.
I have seen plenty of posts about what should be done to make the team better, fire Ellinger, etc. Why not just stop buying tickets if you are unsatisfied? That is the bottom line in this argument. Not that you get to voice your opinion and have it heard or appreciated. There was a fire Ellinger petition, that seems to me to have an expectation of having your voice heard, that you expect more than just a game. If that's not the case then all that talk is just whining.
Own up to it. Either stop buying tickets or admit that you expect some recognition.
So everyone that buys tickets is now supposed to expect recognition? What the hell is this? So someone clue me in on what recognition I'm to expect, because I'm planning on going to a high school football game this week and want to know what I should get for that ticket....

An autograph from the QB?
A jockstrap from the kicker?
Wink from an underage cheerleader?

What should I expect as far as my recognition goes.....I don't want to feel cheated.....after all, before reading this ridiculousness I thought I was just going to watch a game....but now I want more.

OldSka...agree. There is nothing to support the relationship that complaining on a board means you deserve recogntion. How does anyone with any reason come up with this....ah....therein lies the problem. We're expecting reason. My bad.

If you want to just watch a soccer game, you'll one day be able to see them on TV - for free! But my guess is that there will still be several people (perhaps many of you included) that would still rather be at the game in person. That's because, you feel, for the ticket price, you're getting more than just watching a soccer game - it's the whole experience. What you expect out of that experience may be different than others. It sounds like your expectation of the experience is less than that of praxis and others, but I don't think that makes it more valid. Just different.

I'd be willing to wager that the FO believes that it's not just about the game, and that's it's also about the experience for many fans that come. Hence, Carnival Real, Autograph Alley, give-aways, etc. That may not be what draws all the hardcore fans, but that doesn't mean that the hardcore fans can't appreciate those efforts, and even come to expect that that's part of the package.

Anyway, I think expecting to receive some sort of jersey, shoe, or whatever each season would be an example of expecting too much, but expecting player acknowledgement of its fans - particularly the most supportive fans - isn't too much to expect.

Wasn't this coming from the same guy who said he didn't expect anything from the front office? or the team back before the August 12 deadline?

what are the expectations. Maybe the players feel it's enough to wave from the center of the field and walk off?

It's not my argument it's yours. Expect nothing but the game and then go home. You may want those things you listed. I believe i have said what i expect: gratitude and acknowledgement. What does that take? Not much, as many of the people here have said.
I never said that complaining on a board gives means you get recognition. I mentioned a petition. And i never said that the petition entitles you to recognition. I said that there was an expectation of recognition there, otherwise why make it a petition. It seems like there was some bad reasoning going on there. Which was exactly my point. There is/was an expectation for some action.

Are you unable to reason through it? Perhaps you should throw a tantrum.

Did I ever say that posting on boards or having a petition entitles you to recognition like you claim I said? No.
Did i say that petition and other actions show that there is an expectation that there should be some recognition? Yes.

The whole argument here is that you maintain you expect nothing, and i think that isn't a correct assessment.
