Tay, just out of curiosity, how many cards has Jamie had this year? I'm pretty sure he got one yellow....of course that was only after he was decked in the face. I can't think of any others. It seems to me like he has been a spark EVERY time he's been put in the game. He may not have scored much but given some minutes, I think we would see that change. Just as important, he creates opportunites for others to score when he's in. I know you go up to him all the time after the games, maybe you can tell him the reason he isn't getting the minutes is because he is "inexperienced" and "gets too many cards". Somehow I think he wouldn't agree with your reasoning. 😉

According to the stats, Jamie has 1 yellow card to Atiba's 6 yellows and 1 red card and that's not counting the Madrid game. Jamie makes it happen when he comes on the field..it's anybody's guess why he isn't getting the playing time..he's not in the doghouse...don't even think Ellinger can answer that one..it would interesting Tay, for you to tell Jamie what you have to say about him on the boards to his face...

He is getting increasing playing time, when he comes into games:
His first game was May 20 in the 92nd minute. What follows is game by game (excluding Open Cup and Friendlies) when Jamie entered the game. A - means he didn't enter the game.

92
-
88
-

-
89
84
75

So, it appears to me that he is coming in earlier, when he comes into the games. More Jamie analysis at my blog.

Honestly if he asked I would tell him. I have no problems telling this all to his face but it's not like I'm gonna start a conversation with "Hi Jamie, I think you don't play because you're too inexperienced." But again, Jamie doesn't have as many goals or cards as Atiba because they don't have the same amount of playing time. I'm not denying that Jamie does a good job when he is on the field, but in my personal opinion we need a BETTER striker. Jamie is good. I just want better.

Well, hell, I want Wayne Rooney......

Jamie is great in this league and I can't wait for us to see more of him. As Balanceut pointed out, it looks like Ellinger is utilizing him more.......there's a reason for that.

Agreed. And he's slowly getting more experience. You gotta realize I said that 3 games or so ago, and he's gotten more experience in those 3 games.

I hope you're right. From what I've seen so far I think he's going to at best be another Jamil Walker.

I think the reason so many of us love Jamie Watson is that he plays with heart! When he's in, you know he wants to win. And so many times this season and last (especially last) the team really didn't look like they cared about winning at all. They might all have been thinking, "Oh well, another soccer game. Ho hum." Then Jamie gets in and there is enthusiasm. There is effort. There is hope.

"All we are saaaaayiiiiiing, give Jamie a chance!"

I'd like to see more of Jamie Watson. 🕺 :dancing: :banMacara :banjump2:
