<<I know it's nieve, I know that there's a lot to be said about being a realist...but dammit...this is my team. No, this is our team. >>

Inspiring post, but an amusing typo -- "nieve", of course, is Spanish for "snow". I'm not suggesting that this post is a snow job, but . . . 🙂

RSL was going to use last year's grass pitch to make a practice field, they couldn't get the land to put it down.

This is why the club needs a stadium site where they can also have a practice facility.

I learned that the team thinks that we've turned against them...which I know I haven't, and I'm pretty sure that none of the rest of us have either, so I'm going to cheer louder for the guys, and woe be unto all others who enter the pitch.

WA WA WA! 😢

What did we do, did we hurt their feelings. This is there job. If they are getting their feelings hurt too bad. Deal with it!

This still applies to me.

If the team is placing any blame for anything on the fans... they need to step up to the plate. I am not saying that I could do what I am asking of them, but when they start to play like they care, then they can gripe that we don't.

However, I pray for the day that our team turns the corner and starts playing like they care. When I am at games, I am all for our guys. But, when I leave the stadium, I can't help but be a bit disappointed at times. Much of that disappointment stems from the fact that we aren't winning, compounded by the fact that Unlce Dave seems to be sand bagging this whole thing.

When one of those two things change, I will admittedly have a significantly brighter outlook.

This is me in a nutshell. Dysko, my good man, we agree.

Maybe I'm just being a little too optimistic for this thread however, I think the guys do have effort. How many games have we given up in the last minute? A lot, yes I know. But how well, actually how HARD, did we play for the minutes leading up to some of them? Very. They're trying, and sometimes it doesn't pay off and sometimes it does. If you're saying you like other sports better, what about in basketball when your team loses on a winning 3-pointer from the other teams leading scorer? It doesn't mean you suck and that you shouldn't buy season tickets next year. Or in football, losing because they completed a hail mary pass to win? Stuff happens, it doesn't mean our boys don't care. Sorry for being the optimist.

Don't appologize for being an optimist. We need more of those.

The boys are playing better all the time. I see improvement. I don't really think we'll be in the playoffs, but I don't care. The last few games they have looked like a soccer team. I'm proud of them and excited.

Next year, the playoffs!

the thing that i find disappointing is not necessarily that we continue to lose ... but we lose when we don't necessarily deserve it. I feel like we play just as good if not better than the other team but our strikers can't score and they nick a goal, so we end up with nothing. Its the thing i love about the MLS, as proven last night. Even DCU who have a commanding lead in the eastern conference are beatable. Thats not on a day when we play to our best and they play badly. Thats everytime they play they are beatable, and so is every other team in the league. I've said it all year long to my family in england, player for player RSL is as good as any in the MLS, we just need to find our way..
