Rare road win for RSL

Stadium schemes keep on coming
Quote:
A bullish new soccer deal emerged late Friday from Salt Lake County - one that would build a stadium in Sandy
Quote:
On the County Council side, the decisive vote remains David Wilde, who acknowledged Friday the offer may remove a barrier because it is "substantially lower than $30 million."
He stopped short of endorsing the plan, saying he first wants to see a nod from Corroon.
"If there's a united front, I can consider changing my vote but, doggone it, it's going to be awful hard," Wilde said. "It's been a very distasteful thing."
He fears Checketts' outbursts - including some targeted at Wilde - may sour the chances for this latest overture.

You know... I still get wound up when I read opinions by un-informed people...
Wound up not because the people are un-informed but because the newspaper still continues to print them.

Instead of "informing" their readers they reward their ignorance!

I'm awful glad we have such intellectuals leading the county, doggone it.

I never understood why people want "regular guys, like you or me" in leadership positions. I want really smart and capable guys, not guys like me or the Cup (just kidding Cuppy, you know I'd vote for you (in fact I actually wrote you in on my presidential ballot last time, but unless the vote-counters frequent this forum, they probably don't know who "the Cup" is))

And don't give me that "yeah but Warshingtun didn't have no formal edacashun" bit because we all know he was not a "regular guy, like you or me"

Quotes like this in the paper aren't helping. On their face they can be considered factual, but because they aren't specific, it's very easy to take them to mean that Dave is looking for help in building the actual stadium structure.
