RSL vs. Virginia Beach [R] USOC
I just wanted to start this thread early and also mention that winning this match will bring a lot of hope to RSL.

VB Mariners of USL1 are an average team this year coming off a really bad year in 2005.

Winning this match will mean that RSL will actually advance to the next round and that would be a club first.

And if we win we play the CRapids here at RES.

But first we have to beat Virginia. It doesn't mean anything that they are a minor league team, so are we at times.

This is interesting
In another interesting sub-plot to the match, Virginia Beach also features GK Chase Harrison, who Real Salt Lake selected in the 4th round of the 2006 supplemental draft. Harrison is currently on loan to the Mariners, and RSL still retains his MLS rights.

Overtime.

Andy Williams scored with a spectacular goal (apparently) after being denied the obvious penalty kick opportunity.

Also, apparently, RSL has missed several good opportunities, many of which were in front of an open net. Hasn't someone here mentioned that the team needs to work on finishing?
