Any bets on whether Uncle Dave will get us a Gold Cup match next season?

Klinnsman to be announced as new head coach on Christmas?

Trecker thinks so.

For once, I hope he is right.

BTW, Uncle Dave did not secure any Gold Cup matches for Utah.
Sorry.

Wonderful. Here's my guess as to the discussions:

Gulati: Mr. Klinsi, we want you to coach our team. The salary is $29,000 plus 401K and dental.

Klinsi: Um.. I'm going to need a larger salary than that.

Gulati: We are the United States Soccer Federation. We don't DO that sort of thing.

Klinsi: I'd like to wish good luck to whoever the next coach is. Now, if you don't mind, I'll make like Rommel and ausgang.

My guess is it went more like this:

JK: Well, if I'm going to coach this team, I want to do things my way.
SG: That's fine, as long as your way agrees with mine.
JK: Ummmm......well, I want to play a 3-5-2.
SG: Personally I'm partial to the 4-4-2.
JK: I'd like to play more of an uptempo, fastbreak style.
SG: Here in the U.S., we play possession soccer.
JK: Can I at least play some big target forwards?
SG: No, I think we'll stick with the small & fast guys.
JK: Fine, since you know so much about soccer, you coach the damn team!

It may also have included this

SG: We'd love for you to be our coach so long as you agree that Donovan will continue to be the cornerstone of our team.
JK: Landycakes is rubbish.
SG: Good day sir

Well Arena was paid about a $1 million a year and reports were that they offered Klinsmann about $1.5 million.

Still bad news, no matter which way you spin it.

Hopefully Bradley does a good job in the interm and someone (Perkerman?) steps up as a good #2. Bradley is NOT the future.

*On a sidenote, does this mean Bradley isn't Chivas USA's coach anymore?
