One of the Radio Unica commentators, Galindo?, is hating on Beckham. He said that Beckham is just taking the free kicks and is not participating.

England fans chanting "no surrender to the IRA". Within seconds Sweden scores.

I love karmic retribution.

It was funny to hear Dave O'Brien go "british announcer" on us after cole scored his first goal.

"THAT'S ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!" Dave screamed after he scored.

or, "an absolute cracka(r)."

In other news: Owen ruptures ACL

It's great being a soccer fan during the world cup as the fans are growing, because if I stay away from websites I know have scores, I can go home and watch as though they were live.

That England/Sweden game was a lot of fun and that Germany/Sweden matchup looks fantastic.

Cole's goal was simply breathtaking. For those who didn't see it, he was maybe 30-35 yards out, a cleared ball bounced in front of him and into his chest. As the ball fell away from his chest he volleyed it (without letting it touch the ground) into the upper right corner of the goal. Simply a beautiful shot. Glad to have Tivo so I could watch it over and over.

Shame about Owens however. England needs Rooney to stay healthy now.
