Google Earth

I was on Google Earth last night playing around and took at Rice-Eccles Stadium and noticed the most recent image was taken when soccer lines were on the field. (Had always been an image with those "other" lines on the field.) Must have happened the last few weeks or so.

Still hoping they'll take a new image of the area with the new Chicago Fire stadium, (or even New England's new stadium for that matter).

Maybe it's from last year? I thought at once point I caught something that they were replacing the images every 18 months. Maybe they do it more oftne in urban areas. Although it would make sense that when they refreshed the image that it would a recent one.

So why aren't you looking forward to the new Rapids stadium? 😉

That image should come in nice and clear. It's not like there ever will be a bunch of annoying fans to clutter up the view.

I always wondered how long the Rapids would be around without Uncle Phil. I think they lucked up with KSE (Kroenke's company) in that they have a bunch of teams in the area and wanted to have the team stay hear. Not out of the love of the city but to keep costs lower. This town is pretty crowded for sports. I suspect if it wasn't for KSE the Rapids would've been moved. Luckily Commerce City is wanting to be something more than an industrial ghetto and the closing of Stapelton opened up a ton of land for development.
