Galaxy vs. Chivas [R] 6/8/06

This match could affect RSL's position in the standings:

Thu Jun 08 08:00PM Mountain
Length: 2 hr LIVE
ESPN2 (US)
Major League Soccer (MLS)
Los Angeles Galaxy vs Chivas USA

If Chivas tie or win, they leap-frog RSL to qualify for the playoffs and leave RSL on the outside.

Ante Razov scores 2 to lead Chivas to a 2-1 victory, resulting in a 3 game winning streak and the first Chivas win in the Honda Superclasico. Chivas leapfrogs RSL in the standings. We really need to beat Colorado...

Yeah and the Galaxy scored in the 27th minute so the RSL/Colorado longest scoreless record (whichever you believe) still stands

They scored last week, too. I think they came within about 30 minutes of breaking that record. Sick. Just sick. They really need Donovan back. Did Donovan play under Yallop in San Jose? If so, the Galaxy may become a much different team about a month after the US loses (or wins 😉 ) the cup...

RSL is presently on the outside of the playoff picture.

All this talk about Chivas sucking it up this season doesn't hold water as Chivas presently stand at .500, two points ahead of RSL and goal differential of +2 compared to RSL's -1.

Razov's first goal will most certainly win the goal of the week and possibly the goal of the year. It was an absolute bomb worthy of any of the top leagues of the world. That volley is a thing of absolute beauty worthy of being watched over and over again.

By the way, those that criticize Glenn Davis for his commentating should listen to his reaction to Razov's bomb. I love it!

No you don't. :boxing:

Seriously though, I'm still waiting for Chivas to drop off a bit. I figured their defense would suffer without Suarez. There's still plenty of time for that to play out. But so far things in the West are looking a lot tighter than they did last year.

those are pretty nice uni's. how come all these 'one-game' special uni's look so much better than the usual ones?
