The Press Telegram used to have Scott French, one of the most underrated US soccer writers (and Cal State Fullerton grad).

They still have good coverage so if they say that the Galaxy is getting Terrence, I mean Phillip, I mean Frank Yallop; you can go with that.

It looks like former Blitzz advisor Billy McNichol is the interim coach, though.

Come on you Denny's Omlettes!

If Goats Lite win tonight, RSL is in 5th place.

Cool... I played for him back in the day. Billy is a great guy and a pretty good coach as well. Perhaps they will give him a shot to take on the job full time?

Frank Yallop returns to MLS!

Bad news for RSL, Toronto FC and Canada MNT I think, but good for MLS.

To be fair, and I'm guilty of it, we shouldn't assume that Yallop's second coming will result in the same level of success he had before.

That said, it's hard to picture him not being about to turn LA around given what he's done in the past and the resources that team can provide him with. If he can get this team to score goals with Lannycakes around and with essentially the same group of players Sampson worked with, ya gotta think the problem was the coach. But if he comes in and the team only wins one before Landon's back, ya gotta wonder how much is Landon and how much it's the coach.
