Change in Location / Alliance

I just want to give folks a heads up that I'm moving. I sent out one last resume for a gig in Boise a month ago and didn't get anything more than a thank you out of it. So I figured it was time to move and Boise wasn't the place.

I could've flipped a coin between SLC and Denver. But figured I'd give Denver a spin since I've got some family there (4 of my mom's brothers live there and one of them's even reproduced so I have some cousins there too) and the market for Cold Fusion work (the programming language I have the most experience with) is stronger there than SLC. I'm anxious to move since I've been thinking about it for way too long. Like I said, I could've flipped a coin. It's funny cuz so many friends thought the SLC thing was weird until I'd point out that Denver was the biggest city in Kansas. :D

I'm excited for the move but a bit bummed since if I were chosing a place purely on the game (which I don't want to do since, afterall, it's only a game) Salt Lake City would win hands down. It would be nice to have had a tradition of drinking pologamy porter (yes, even in the summer) after home games.

I'm sure I'll still pop in. It's hard to not follow a team after following them for so long. If nothing else, I need to keep the fire ellinger campaign going no matter how much it would benefit RSL. :D

Are you saying that you are going to be a cRapids fan?
I can't even begin to fathom how disappointing and depressing that prospect must be for you...
but I suppose you gotta go where the money is... even if it is Denver...

I think the fortunes of the cRapids are looking up... they have doubled their local fanbase with one new fan moving to town!

Good luck and stuff...

Been there, hated it.

Don't let them fool you. The Denver area is very nice. I spent about 10 months in Arvada (a long time ago). I enjoyed it, and I liked the people.

...sorry about the team, though.

If it's so easy to switch teams (regardless of where you live) then you must been real committed to RSL.

Good luck to you. Hope Denver is good to you professionally and socially and that the crapids never score again.

I agree. The last thing we want is them reproducing.

Ya, it's the price one pays. I really love the game. But I don't want to make choices based on the game cuz, it's just a game. I don't want to be all "oh, it's tuesday night and I go out cuz USA-Morrocco friendly is on". Or like this saturday night, RSL - CO. But I've got a friend coming into town (MPLS) so me and another buddy are going to head out. The 3 of us rarely get to head out so I'll be damned if I miss that for a game. Same with a place to move. I'm a lil' more worried about work and family and that than what sports teams are in town.

Funny that you mention Aurora. Most folks would describe it as the armpit of the area (or maybe that's Commerce City...). It's a big city (300k+) and has some nice areas. It just has some sketchy parts too. And I think that's what folks pick up on, especially that live around there. But it's like any place, it has it's pluses and minuses. I'm just hoping that one of the pluses will turn out to be a job at Raytheon for an Antartica project they've been doing for the National Science Foundation (unlikley but they've been using Cold FUsion; one never knows). Who knows what will happen 8 months from now. Afterall, I haven't turned off some fo the job agents for Idaho or Utah yet. 🙂

I lived in Manchester for most of my life and have been a lifelong Liverpool fan. Location means nothing mate, stick to your loyalty with RSL and we'll have even more fun on the road trips.

I guess you will have to change your allegiance from fire Ellinger to fire Clavijo.
