stadium rants sorry to join the party late, but here goes.
For Murray City to spend so much money trying to promote a pedestrian friendly commercial/high-density residential area is like George Bush spending money promoting more restrictive gun-control laws. Don't abandon your base! Murray is all about box-shaped buildings floating on big, flat, black parking lots, i'd like to think that the stadium wouldn't be that way, but, the proof - as they say - is in the pudding. Before I make a bigger foool of myself, where exactly is the proposed site in downtown SLC? Since they announced the team was coming here I thought the block between 4th and 5th south and main and west temple would be perfect, is that still an option? By the way I like to think of the sound the "e" in Real makes as more of a Canuck "eh?" type sound. And remember, the emphasis is on the second syllable. rehAL. Maybe that's why they made the e lower case in the logo. . . ? Last edited by brad : 01-06-2005 at 03:27 PM.

Latest developments from the Trib:
http://www.sltrib.com/ci_2517272 Sounds like an interesting proposal, but it doesn't seem very likely that SLC will pull it off, from what the article says.

Good article.
I think it shows that they are doing everything possible to get the stadium downtown. (of which I have been converted to from the Murray site) By them saying they could hold 100 or more events there a year is a big selling tool. I think the city is going to pull some strings for them.
