"What Sir Alex may not know is that Cristiano Ronaldo is dead set on leaving Manchester United this summer, if Madrid will buy him. He personally has had enough of Manchester United, and English football. So, it may be that we are left with Ronaldo saying that he wants to go, and that van Nistelrooy and Ferguson may make their peace."

So we might see Ronaldo in August? That almost makes up for Zidane not being there. :slobber:

Seriously, I've been a ManU fan for awhile and it seems recently that Sir Alex has been pushing away the best talent the team has. First Beckham, now Ruud. I wonder what Ronaldo's reasons are.

Neil: I didn't realize you were a closet ManU supporter. Welcome!

I've observed Sir Alex for many years and it seems to me that he always has a good idea when a superstar begins to feel the team revolves around him.

Fergie places a premium on teamwork, so when someone like Beckham or Ruud begin to feel they have entitlements before the team, that's when he starts benching them.

BTW, that is also the reason some others like Scholes, Keane and Giggs have (or "had" in the case of Keane) lasted so long at ManU -- precisely because they understand the team ethic...
