So what next? Anyone heard from the FO as far as any contingency plan? You know this wouldn't be an issue if a "popular" sport was asking for fundage!!!

I thought this part of the DesNews editorial was encouraging:
"Rest assured, Corroon's decision does not spell the end to efforts to get public funding for a stadium. But at least the county mayor has demonstrated that any deal will have to be in taxpayers' best interests before he approves it." That seems to be the consensus among those I have talked to. RSL just needs to make a better effort. By the way, it should be remembered that Mayor Corroon is a season seat holder. But being a season seat holder doesn't mean you have to have Dean Howes' balls in your mouth.

I have no problem with the fact that the county doesn't want to pay 87 mil in interest. I have no problem with the fact that this proposal doesn't meet criteria set out in the internal debt policies.
I do have a problem with deliberately malicious reporting and wilfull negligence of proprietary client data. The Salt Lake County Council, Salt Lake Tribune, Deseret News, and other local media should be ashamed of how they have handled this whole debacle, as should RSL. RSL allowed itself to be taken advantage of. ⚽ Geoff ----------------------- REGULATORS! Mount up! Sandy, downtown, Murray, I don't care. So long as it ain't the fairgrounds...

I think you hit it right on the head. It is what most bother's me. The spin in the press has been malicious. There are obviously people that don't want any stadium deal to occurr or things would have been differently. On the other hand I think that now that the dust is settling that its clear there are plenty of rays of hope to salvage a decent deal.

Very true, but look at Utah's open records law here: http://www.archives.state.ut.us/recmanag/gramapart3.htm#63-2-301 I count at least three different ways that the records in question are defined as public by Utah law. I can't find any way in which anyone could make the case that they are not public. RSL made a humongous blunder if they did not want the records made public. I don't know who their legal counsel is, but my guess is that they are really feeling the heat right now (and if anyone knows who it is please tell me so that I never use them). However, once the decision to hand the material over to the county was made, RSL lost every right to complain about it being released to the public, at that point it was no longer proprietary. So the "wilfull negligence" gripe you should lay right at the feet of RSL.
