And there's already a Real San Luis in Mexico

A very special opportunity is extended to RSL fans this week as the team's administrative staff will be conducting an "Equipment Room Sale" on-site at this week's coach's corner.

RSL must not be moving to St Louis. If they were moving to St Louis, they could take all their "RSL" merchandise with them.

I believe this is last year's merchandise.

This is a GREAT article. Its about time someone at the Trib stepped up and tries rallying for the team instead of against it!

If Real relocates, we all will lose.
So it's time to mobilize to keep RSL from leaving. Salt
Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon, who said "the numbers just don't work" for taxpayers to help build a stadium in Sandy, must be convinced that his county needs pro soccer. Same with officials in Murray and Salt Lake City, who last year were competing for the team.
That means all these soccer players, soccer moms and soccer dads, whose supposed level of interest in the game was the reason MLS officials wanted to put a franchise here and convinced Dave Checketts to own it, need to start showing up more frequently at Rice-Eccles.
So do a lot of other sports fans, even if they're not especially tuned into soccer.
Yeah, he's not a big soccer fan but is saying that we need the franchise to succeed so Salt Lake looks more appealing to other Pro sports. We need more people to start thinking this way, especially those who daydream (unrealisticly) about the Twins coming to Utah or a NFL team.

If this guy can get all sports fans on board that would change public sentiment. This was indeed a genius article!!! I already sent him a quick "thank you" note, and I suggest each of you do the same. That is, right after you send Carroon and Crockett your nasty messages. 😁

FYI. Just got a response from Kurt:

"Thanks for the response. It's nice to get positive feedback occasionally. But I will probably spread the world's biggest computer virus someday by opening a file with the heading "great article."
Anyway, thanks again and let's hope for the best. Kurt "

So, when you write him, make sure you don't use the subject: "Great Article". 🙂

Real Joisey

Soccer America thinks that the Philly suburbs are a possibility. I wonder if fans there will boycott because the stadium is not downtown?

At the Meet The Coach's show, they were selling off a lot of cold-weather and rain gear.

Someone seems to think that Real Bullhead City is going be spending a lot of time in a warm, dry place.

Real MontReal (but they'd need all the cold weather gear back)

Real Little Rock (just looks funny)

Real Irwindale (not nice but for SoCals a great memory)

Real Albuquerque (you know, Real Al)

I'm also formulating a note to send to him thanking him for his insight. He is one of the writers I enjoy the most at that paper. And as he said, let's try to treat family members and friends to soccer games (I'll be doing so the next few matches) and get them acquainted and excited about the sport.
