No, I say we bring back Sergio... let the kid play at least 1 minute of time for the first team.

In all reality, I thought Andy was playing reasonably well and was quite suprised when he got benched. However, after how Mehdi played... perhaps he should be the play maker with Andy on the wing.

Ballouchy had a big impact on the game precisely because Andy wasn't in the game. When El took Andy out, we lost our primary playmaker. Ballouchy has said himself that he prefers to be more central. I think he is very ineffective when El plays him on the wing. I say put Ballouchy in the middle and Andy on the wing.

Man. Opinions on players and coaching decisions on this board are a dime a dozen. You want to find 21 different viewpoints on the last game, or 18 viewpoints on the performance of Andy Williams? You've come to the right place!

No, Williams and Cunningham are worthy. They just need to play their natural positions along with everyone else. At least have Andy as a mid not a forward.

And yes, lets get Ballouchy out there all the time.

My question to you, and I'm pleading ignorance here, is in "natural positions" who's left mid? All I see is a bunch of center mids naturally.

Not to be rude but fans in general, both in soccer and other sports, seem to resort to the logic of "hard work == good". So if you run around like a chicken with your head cut off (sorry but Jamie's very good at that), you win the fans hearts. The problem doesn't mean it's very productive over all. It's the equalivent of paper pushing for the pitch. A lot of busy work doesn't mean things are getting done.

This is the problem that Williams and Cunningham have. They've never been taht type of a player. They never will be. But they do bring a lot of things to the team that others don't. Afterall, the logical conclusion of that argument is that there should be 11 Kenny Cutlers on the pitch. Is that really going to make things better?

To be honest, I think Ellinger was lucky his subs at half time "worked". Mehdi could've easily gone out there and been marked out of the game by a veteran defender. The way the ref was making calls, Attiba could've ended up with a red instead of a goal (look at how easily Kreis picked one up). I still think that 7 of 10 times he does pulls that stunt at half time, pulling 2 proven vets for a couple rookies, the game goes south. Instead of 3-2, it finished 5-1. Ellinger's changes didn't do anything to account for Lannycakes. He got tired of toying with RSL. He could've continued to run through the RSL mid and it could've been uglier.

I think we should get rid of Klein. I mean, here's a guy who has both skill AND work ethic. He's making everyone else look bad on the pitch. Compared to him, nobody else can really look decent at all. If we got rid of him, the fans wouldn't develop unhealthy, unrealistic expectations about players being able to have both skill and work rate. Dump him before the fans get spoiled is my vote.

Or not. He's basically my favorite player on the team right now.

You had me going for a second there. Without a doubt he's been the best addition to the team.

Look, I was never all that impressed with Cunningham in the past, in Columbus or Colorado. He's a good player, but I see no discipline in this game. We got him because Clavijo was tired of putting up with the pout parties. Think about it--they were willing to take Mathis to get Cunningham off their hands.

Then again, this is the same staff that thought Tarley would be great because he scored so many goals on us in the US Open Cup. Not good scouting.

I will say that I think Sequeira has been a much better acquisition than I thought he would be. I wasn't pleased when we got him, but he has played very well and is clearly focused on the team.

Talley and Garlick--well, they still have some things to prove.

I completely agree about Sequeira, yes, he is a bit of a whiner once in a while, but he seems to be on the end of every free kick/cross when he gets forward, and is a fairly good defender.

Talley seems a little off to me (not sure if it is age or what), I sure would like to see Cabrera playing in his spot for at least a half.

Garlick has done exactly what I think he is expected to do...play smart and help Pope lead from the back. He doesn't make spectacular saves, but he doesn't let easy ones in either. He also knows when to come off his line (unlike a certain GK who once played here).
