Thanks! It's good to see that at least they got that done right away. 🙂

In a way that makes it all the more frustrating. I wouldn't expect them to be getting cleansheets left and right. And I don't want to place too much emphasis on the statistics. But if they can get a cleansheet every now and then that would at least be a few points here and there. But notice how once the cleansheets went away, the results dissapeared. I'm not saying there is a one-to-one correlation. Just in general they reflect how the teams doing.

So we're looking at roughly 40 regular season games and we only have THREE!!! cleansheets! No wonder we can't win. It's like in football. Can't count on scoring 40 every game and expect to win. Every now and then you need to be able to hold an opponent to 14, in case your offense can only get 21.

You have to be able to win 1-0, because we've shown that scoring even 2 goals is tough to do. (Only scored 2 or more 9 times.)

THAT'S the reality of the situation. I'm a pretty obsessed soccer fan (ask my patients' moms who get frustrated because I'm talking soccer with their dads instead of asking how the sick kids or new babies are doing!) but I have to admit that the last third of last year and definitely watching the CHivas game on TV this year I was seriously wondering if it's worth it to keep my tickets. I don't think I'm a "fair-weather fan", but I don't need to pay a few thousand dollars so that my family and I can be depressed and discouraged on a regular basis (although the kids will still go if they get Dippin Dots). Some serious effort, some nice turns on the ball, and I'm pretty happy, even if we don't win. But there just hasn't been much there to enjoy lately. THe LA game was pretty enjoyable, two great goals, but 3 goals on 3 shots? You've got to be kidding me. And don't get me started about the refs.

I'm just wondering how viable the team is if they aren't providing entertainment? THen again, the most entertaining part of American Idol is the first few weeks when the ReALly bad singers are on the show-- maybe we just need a paradigm shift! :dancing: BAD is FUNNY, FUNNY is ENTERTAINING!

For me, it's not entirely about the entertainment. I think that's the way it is for most normal fans, which is why it's still important, but for those that are fanatical about the team - it's about the team itself and the support of it, win or lose. I want this team to grow into something special in this state and in this country, and I want soccer as a whole to grow into something special in this state and in this country.

Now I'm not saying that you're not a "fan" if you don't feel the same way I do, but there is something special about those fans that still support a losing team. How are you feeling right now if you've been a die-hard Clippers fan for years? Pretty darn good!

I'm sure that the 8 of them that were left are feeling pretty great right about now, yes.

Come on man. If there were only 8, the team would have had to have moved a long time ago. :P

It's important if we want to fill the stands. Not everyone is going to be a diehard fan (at least not until the see a few great games and get hooked). Then again, we may have to actually PLAY a few great games to accomplish that.

So for the "fanatical" fan, the entertainment comes not just in the team's success, but in the fan-team relationship, and the fan-fan relationships. It's belonging to something greater than our puny little lives. That's why Brits stand in the Kop in the pouring rain year after year. But even the fan-atic has to get a little dragged down by poor effort/poor coaching game after game. Unless your masochistic streak comes through or you are into character-building as a pastime.
