May. Before the end of may, as long as we don't go on a five game winning streak.

Don't mind this factoid, but Sampson did some how win the USOC and the MLS Cup last year...

Yes, and his head was on the chopping block. Were it not for those two championships gift-wrapped by Landy Cakes he would be gone by now...

Either we should look at this as:

We are crazy not to want a defending champion coach!
or
We are crazy to want a coach who just got lucky and is a fluke!

I thought there was no luck in soccer.

For RSL fans, apparently so.

I have spent some time working with and around Sampson, Mooch Myernick, and Bunker Bob.

The problem with Sampson isn't that he isn't smart...he is...to a fault...he thinks so highly of his soccer intellect that he tends to overcoach the game and annoy his players because he is an arrogant a$$.

Mooch is one of the nicest human beings you will meet. Players like him, but, unlike Coach E, he has a track record of success at the MLS level (with the Crapids for gosh sake) and has spent a long time with The Bruce. Any time you see the Nats line up and take it to the opposition and you think to yourself, wow, it's like the Nats knew exactly what the other team wanted to do...thank Mooch who is their chief scout and, along with The Bruce, chief tactician.

Bob is one of my favorite people. His teams got the bunker reputation from the 2000 season where they rode Meola (and little else) to the MLS title. Bob is a master tactician and great trainer who, over the years, has learned to relax and let the players play (see Sampson) yet his players will almost always carry out the tactical plan to a T. Bob rarely passes blame on to his players directly, but always holds the team (including himself) accountable...(hear that Coach E?)...

Another fun factoid:
Both Sampson and Myernick were 2 coaches there were most likely to be the RSL coach when the club franchise was awarded in 2004.

🙁

I'm trying to understand the line of reasoning in this thread. Are people actually saying that think that RSL could beat LAG which will result in LAG firing Sampson. As a result RSL would fire Ellinger and hire Sampson.

That seems like strang press: "RSL win seals Ellinger's fate".
