If Ellinger remains in a 4-4-2 formation, that figures to be defensive midfielder Kenny Cutler. But if the coach could switch to a 3-5-2, in which case probably either Chris Brown or Daniel Torres would yield his spot along the back line.

Pray that its the latter option!!

Brown has been the first to go so far but things probably have changed since Talley is questionble.

What about a 3-4-3 or a 3-4-1-2 such as below:

----------Garlick-----------
--Talley---Pope---Torres---
Klein-Sequeira-Cutler-Ballouchy
-----------Kries------------
--Cunningham----Williams--

Wouldn't that make it easier to "trap" on D as well?

Looks good. But it depends on Talley's fitness.

What about Cabrera? What happens when Broome comes back? What about Akwari? Perhaps he makes a better right back than a central defender?

Never place Akwari in a position where speed is necessary...that is why he looked decent in the middle of a 4-4-2 last year, but horrible on the outsides and a disaster in the 3 man back line on Sat.
