I might have missed it in another thread but I just read that Joey Worthen will not be trying out this year. He is still under contract with the A-league.

Yep, I read that, too. So now the question is why he wasn't dropped from the list of options a long time ago. Have they been negotiating unsuccessfully with the A-league to get him?

The article we read (one of the random links posted somewhere in the forum) said he will not be joining them for training. I know this contradicts an earlier report, but since it's the latest report, I'll assume it's accurate.

Joey Worthen has contractual obligations to his A-League team, so he has to go back there.

That's the point. He's not on trial with RSL. He's not training with the team. Apparently, earlier reports were wrong! 🙂

Ok, according to RSL FO, Richmond Kickers wouldn't allow RSL to buy Worthen's remaining contract, thus Joey is NOT on trial for RSL nor will be a RSLer this season.

Bummer. 🙁

According to the FO he will be joining the team in Florida as soon as his Visa is approved.
