Insight

I'm new to the threads, but not new to reading them!
I am a HUGE Columbus Crew fan and so are my children.
I keep up on where old Crew players are, as well as
the current team. That's pretty much all the soccer I
can get in Wisconsin. Anyway, I couldn't help but
reply to all of the comments you have about the team.
First, you are all very passionate fans! We could
have used fans like you all in Columbus the past few
years! Keep that up! I would like to give you some
different insight into some of the players that you've
picked up from the Crew.
Jeff- What a GREAT guy off the field! He's wonderful
with kids and fans. In fact, he's really good with
names and faces. If he's met you once, he'll remember
you. He really enjoys the fans and is great to talk
to. Jeff will do well for you! Treat him right,
enjoy him, and he'll play hard for you. Give him
time. Many people don't understand how much he really
does on the field. He's sometimes double and triple
teamed. In turn, that opens up other players! Your
players just have to act on it. He was a huge part of
the 18 game unbeaten streak in Columbus as well. He
brings a passion to the game that I think was lacking
on your team last year!
Nelson- This is the one I can't figure out!!! Why
isn't he playing??? I looked over last year and they
had a shut out against Dallas with him in Center Back.
You might want to look up your wins/ ties and see how
many he was a part of. I do know that when the Crew
went on the 18 game unbeaten streak, he was a HUGE part
of that! He works VERY hard, in fact more than most
of the rest of the Crew did, and doesn't make excuses
for mistakes. John Busch often said that he never had
to worry with Nelson playing in front of him! Being
John's captain on the u-17's along with Kenny, should
say something. I think he's often overlooked because
he isn't a media hog and doesn't need attention
focused on him. He's also great with the fans and
you're missing out if you don't get to know him! My
kids LOVED him and MISSED him when he left!
Danny- When I watched him play for the Crew, he wasn't
that impressive. However, he was young! He actually
was CUT by the Crew and that's why he left. I don't
really think that I would consider Bodens BK a great
place to improve. They've had many former MLS
players....Dunny, Leighton,Steve Shak. In fact, I
think they were Division 2 when Dunny was there and
went to Divsion 3 when Danny was there. Don't let the
fact that he's from South America make it seem like
he's something great! He is a very kind guy though,
and the fans loved him too!
Finally, I was reading online the Columbus paper yesterday
morning. It seems that Sigi locked the locker room
after the Crew's second loss in a row. They also pretty much have a brand new team! Sigi "talked" to them for an hour! It was stated that they're making line up changes this weekend! I think the Real team can learn
something from this. Some of the starters obviously, AREN'T
getting it done! Instead of celebrating a loss
because they actually ran for 90 minutes, how about
getting angry because they didn't win? The team won't
start winning until someone begins to blame
themselves!
