How 'bout that pressure?

Okay, In last weeks post I was extremely critical of Williams. Just for the record, I'm still not convinced Williams makes a good center mid,. With that, I couldn't find a thread that this fit in, but I wanted to say kudos to the team on their defensive pressure. I know you can't score goals on defense alone, but without it, offense isn't even an option and hey, we did lead for a bit. There where times you could see 3 RSLers pressuring the ball, fun to watch 🙂

So the defense looked 100x's better and if that keeps up, i'm sure the goals/wins are soon to follow.

P.S. my jaw dropped when I saw Williams make that 40 yard "DEFENSIVE" run to the corner. Holy S!&T!

the biggest difference between the Chivas and Dallas game was the pressure. During Chivas their D would simply walk to the attacking half without us even attempting to pressure.

Saturday night we we pressuring. Give this team time, it'll come.

I agree! it was actually fun to see the team defend as a team and defend with numbers. I can't express how nice it was to see them play with GARRA for most of the game. I agree that they didn't do as well attacking with numbers, but as others have said I can support the way they played in Dallas...with heart, honor, lol 🙂 It was a great improvement to the feeling of despair that I felt as I watched in exasperation as the team floundered against Chivas. I totally agree the defense was refreshing!

A result would have been nice (and not totally undeserved), but at least at the end of the match Saturday, I left the watch party having enjoyed watching the effort. At the end of the match, unlike the first week where I was grateful the referee called for no extra time, I was thinking "if only we had a few more minutes to attack we would have put in the tying goal"

Looking forward to the home opener.
