My Projected Starting Lineup Since the signing of Pope, the starting lineup just changed. I thought I would take the first crack at a new proposed starting lineup.
----Mathis-----------Kreis---- ------------Williams---------- Kamler-----------------Brenes -----------Behncke---------- Rojas--Pope--Dunseth--Pierce -----------Countess--------- I bumped Behncke from LCB to DM and Kamler from DM to LM (a position he played in 2003). There has been alot of talk on BS about Pope missing games due to Nats duty and such. I just looked and we have a definite log-jam in the back. Below are the players that could step up on defense: Stewart Whitfield Akwari Halilovic Not to mention that Kamler, Brenes and Behncke could move back if needed. As far as the DM position, I think Behncke or Kamler could play that position. With Rojas and Pope missing some games for Nat duty, I STILL think we'll have a quality back line. I see Dipsy coming first off the bench at Forward and maybe getting some time in the midfield. Especially when Clint's off with the Nats. Perhaps we'll see a bit of Luke K. when Andy's gone. All in all, I think we have a pretty competitive lineup. A good mix of solid veterans and some young guys like Luke K. and Watson that will get time to slowly mature. Is it April yet? | |||||

I think that's a good lineup you've got there, and good analysis too. Of course we'll have to wait and see who surprises, who gets injured, etc... but I do hope to see Krispy Kreamalmeyer get some playing time.

Midfield may include C. Brown, E. Whitfield, & M. Rojas too.
I think Stewart played in midfield for the crapids some. But then, who hasn't. Kamler & Ara are the Dmids I think. Has Behncke played there before or capable of the switch? | |||||
