No it didn't. Several papers have reported that the ManU Fan Club had almost 20% of the stock as a group. If Glazer now has over 90%, some of the Fan Club members sold out.
Sure not every ManU stockholder was a glorified futbal fan, but many of them were. Its their own greed that allowed Glazer to buy them out.

Your first graph is correct. The Beeb said yesterday that Glazer now controls 97.3% of the shares, and he only needs .3% more to force a compulsury sale of the remaining shares. I do think it's quite unfair to say that United fans who've sold their shares to Glazer did so out of greed. The massive debate on Manchester United message boards, radio shows, newspapers, etc., has been what to do now that Glazer has taken over. Most fans have decided, even though they detest Glazer, that they'll continue supporting Manchester United. The fact that they're selling their shares for three-pounds each doesn't mean their gready--it means they don't want United to turn into a crock. Manchester United will probably set a record this season for season ticket holders (over 45,000), and many of those fans work all week long so they can spend that money toward United on the weekend.

I am not calling all ManU fans greedy.
I am saying that it is unfair to call out Glazer as moneywhore when in reality, he was only able to buy the shares because the "respectable" shareholders like JP McManus and John Magnier sold their stocks to Glazer (ie "sold-out") and then (thru the board) informed all other ManU shareholders to sell too. After the board started selling we knew that Glazer than owned over 75% of the stock and the ManU Fan Club (I forget its full name) calling for Glazer's head and blaming him for the fall of football worldwide or something. The ManU Fan Club then owned over 20% collectively. Now we learn that Glazer is at 97%. So where did he get those shares? Thats right, ManU Fan Club members. They were the only main shareholders left. Why did they sell? Apathy? Greed? They are Chelsea fans now? You decide. Pot calling the kettle black, IMHO.

In my opinion, and I'll admit I'm completely biased on this issue, most of the United fans (and those from Shareholders United) have sold out because they think now that it's in the best interest of the club. They don't want to see the club turn to pot as some are suggesting. All these left wing nuts (nothing against them personally...just don't like their lack of common sense) keep chimming in about starting a new club, which they've done, and ruining Manchester United to eventually save it! Hello, what's wrong with that picture?! Soccer Prime--I totally see your point, but I've just got be to one who sticks up for Manchester United!

I saw that yesterday...I love the heart of the Shareholders United lot, but things like that are just silly.

Did you seriously call JP McManus and Magnier honourable? Last season they tried to force Sir Alex Fergueson out of Man Utd because of a dispute over a racehorse. TBH i don't think any United fan would expect anything less of those 2.
I think the fans of Football Club United of Manchester are just trying to preserve the tradition of the club.
