Enough of the "Untucked uniform, I'm a thug, Loosey-goosey" look You may think I am getting picky here but I don't feel that way, this is ticking me off.
Remember back in the day when if a soccer player wanted to express themselves with "a look" they were allowed to style their hair a certain way. Maybe a pony-tail, maybe long Euro-trash hair, or maybe gel it up into a mohawk. But other than that usually they were clean cut and the uniform was worn properly and with pride. I was sickened when while watching yesterday's game after halftime Williams and Cunningham come walking back out onto the field talking stategy and Williams has his socks pulled up over his knees, his shirt is completely untucked, and his long sleeves are hanging down over his hands. Cunningham's shirt is also untucked and his hair looked like he had just gotten out of bed. And then while in the huddle before the second half started I noticed Harris' shirt was also only half way tucked in. And durring the play of the game I've noticed players who's shirt has become untucked go to tuck it in but leave half of it untucked on purpose, kind of the "Kanye West" look. Enough damn it! Once we start winning some damn games then you can dress however you want. Currently though we look like a band of misfits. If we look like a team maybe we will play like a team. Tuck your damn shirts in. Roll your socks down slightly under your knees. Enough of the long sleeve shirts. If you are cold Williams wear one of those tight long sleeve under shirts Donovan wears. Everybody needs to shave for Hell's sake! I know they are having some kind of perverted contest but lets concentrate on playing better instead, shall we? I think we need a nice, large wooden pole installed at Rice-Eccles to match our misfit status. Once we have that, the cup will be ours!!! ⚽ Geoff ----------------------- REGULATORS! Mount up! Who wants the cup anyway?

I respectfully disagree, Cup, because I know that if someone told me how to wear my hair or if I couldn't wear a long-sleeve shirt in April, I'd tell them to **** off.

I'm not a fan of the old-school miliary discipline school of coaching where you come up with crazy things like "no sex on wednesdays with your wife unless her 3rd cousin is pregant" kind of stuff.
That said, such a tactic can work in a different context. It can serve as a tool to help show that expectations of behavior have clearly changed. Um, the cup, that just out of bed look, well, that's called an afro. 😉 That pretty much is what it looks like. Hair of men with sub-saharan and saharan african blood tends to do that. I wouldn't get too hung up on it unless you're looking for CONDOR to flag your messages and alert the PC police. 😁 __________________

I admit to bias since I'm a Marine, but how you wear your uniform and conduct yourself when in the team colors says much about your respect for the organization and its supporters. There are legitimate arguments to the contrary but that's been my experience.
We went through this discussion last season and did not come to any kind of agreement. People just see it differently. My opinion is that success comes from paying attention to the details that others ignore. Call it professionalism. This club does not have it yet. The proof is in the results column. Will we suddenly get good if we have players who tuck in their jerseys? Of course not. But if I see the uniform worn properly I have more confidence that everythig else is being done properly--conditioning, preparation, scouting, practice. __________________

When it comes to haircuts, in 1986, Argentina looked like they had taken a wrong turn from Woodstock and ended up in the Estadio Azteca hauling around a trophy.
But even chubby Maradona did manage to keep his shirt tucked in.

I think the shirts should be tucked in until we start to win. I think it gives a psychological edge and a cohesiveness to the team.

Rover, I know that youre not saying that your way is how it has to be, it's just your opinion, I respect that. But as far as the players representing the organization and supporters....if thats true, they are representing us all. Those of you who tuck the shirts in, have nicely cut hair and no beards. As well as those of us with shaggy beards, nappy white man 'fro's, shorts with holes beccause they are more comfortable, and mortal fear of ties. They also represent those yob's that wear no shirt and a big R, S, or L on thier chest. A crisp uniform may have it's place. Im not one to tell the military what to do, they know their business better than me. Military folks are really supposed to be the same, right? (I dont mean that in any negative way, just that you are supposed to be uniform, I imagine it's necessary to know that everyone on your side looks the same when youre shooting at stuff). As they are representing us all, let them actually represent us all, however they want. From the proper marine, to the dirty hippie, and all those in between.

You make a good point, and what I see as disrespect for the team and fans you see as free expression and representing another point of view. I'm sure there are others who agree with you, and that's valid. I'd still like to see some evidence from the team of preparation and attention to detail. That was my second point. We just don't do the little things--the fundamentals--that win close games and keep lopsided losses from happening. We're undisciplined as a team, and the results show that. Tucking in jerseys won't solve that. But paying attention to details in preparation would be a good place to start to build a winning team. __________________
