The weirdest object thrown at a football match There was the half-eaten hamburger recently thrown at Gary Neville against Liverpool.
We also have the pig's head once aimed at Luis Figo in the Nou Camp. But the strangest item to be lobbed from terrace to pitch include the following: On Paul Gascoigne's return to St James's Park after being sold to Spurs, Gazza was pelted with Mars bars. He had professed a liking for them in an interview. During the game,he picked one up, opened it and took an enormous bite. Then there was the time in 2000 when Hull City fans decided to protest against David Lloyd, former tennis player, then GB Davis Cup chief and owner of Boothferry Park. He had threatened to close the club down and called the people of the city crap. To protest, loads of Hull fans interrupted a match by pelting the pitch with tennis balls. But really, when it comes to the strangest object ever thrown from the terraces, there is only one winner: the scooter that Internazionale supporters stole from an Atalanta fan outside the San Siro in May 2001, then smuggled into the stadium, set on fire and tossed from the second tier onto a thankfully empty section of the lower stand. OK, so the scooter didn't actually make it on to the pitch, but that was the intention. __________________

Thanks. I had forgotten about the scooter incident. Thank god no one was underneath the thing.

How do you smuggle a scooter into a stadium? I have enough trouble just trying to sneak bottled water into RES!

I'll never forget when UNLV was playing against Utah in the Huntsman Center and from out of the student section a dead rat came sliding onto the floor. The players were at that end and no one noticed it for a few seconds and Alex Jensen actually moved it a few times with his foot before finally stepping on it's tail. Funniest part was right after they noticed and stopped play, one of the Rebel players jumped about a foot into the air in panic.

its easy to get water bottles into RES. just tell them its for your kid!
also, another way is to say its for your pregnant wife (if she isnt pregnant just stuff her shirt with other nice snacks for the game until the proper 'pregnant' effect takes shape)

So can we smuggle a gurney into the DC game?

I once saw a bra go right over my head from the terraces at the Gay Meadow (Shrewsbury) ground against Telford in a very contentious local derby which was followed minutes later by about 14 or so pairs of mens boxer shorts, briefs and some dodgy pairs of speedo type mens undies, about 1 minute later another 5 or 6 bras followed. Most landed next to, near and one very clerverly thrown bra landed on the arm of Steve Ogrisovic the Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper (he used to be a Liverpool hero).
I think that's the weirdest thing(s) I've seen thrown at a game.

I'm assuming none of those were yours, eh? 🙂
