I hope they use Philly in their name, just to remind New Jersey that they are in fact the nation's *****. JK.

Way to go south Jersey/Philly. Building the stadium in a town of 20,000 makes Sandy look like Gotham.

500 acres to develop. Thats awesome!
Press Conference is today, 10am EST for those interested. Rowan Radio will carry the press conference at 11 am.

Big question is if the rather stubborn PA-side Philly fans would embrace a team located 20 mile south of the state line. And you guys that SLC fans had issues with Sandy...

MLS Supports Rowan Stadium Plans
Quote:
Major League Soccer will support Rowan's search for an investor for the project because the stadium, upon its completion in 2009, would serve as home to an MLS expansion team.

Ya, I was wondering that too. It almost seems like the kind of thing an MBA would do. They'd see it was only 20 miles away and figure "it's an exurb just like Frisco; this will work!".

Some of you may noticed that I've been busy away from RSL working on some other soccer projects. One is my almost but not quite home team Miami FC.

But I've been especially busy with Philly MLS. I'm from Pennsylvania and would love for MLS to get into the Philly market. In fact I am working with a group of fans in Philly trying to bring pro soccer back to the area.

Recently I was interviewed by MatchNight.com's RBNY section about our efforts.

Happy reading: http://nynj.matchnight.com/metroindex.cfm?page=ARTICLE&show=353
