Galaxy Team president/GM Hamilton dies
Galaxy's Hamilton dies on flight home

From apparent heart attack. What a sad thing to happen weeks before the 2006 season starts.

Like I implied on the Saprissa/Galaxy thread; Cobi can be replaced, Landon can be replaced (like we saw during the Poland game); but Doug will be missed.

Hamilton's success with Victoria Street and the Galaxy is probably one of the reasons why Dave Checketts saw MLS as a good place to invest.

CDCUSA GM: Hamilton a class act

In this article in Spanish, Goats Lite General Manager Antonio Cue says that Hamliton was a great guy.

During one of the Galaxy - Chivas games, Hamilton & Cue had a bet. The loser would wash the winner's car.

Cue said that Hamilton's car was spotless already when it was time to wash it. Hamilton must have washed it, Cue figured, so as to not rub it in.

They are setting up a memorial fund for his son.
