"Instead of asking the county to subsidize a private facility with public money, Stephenson wants RSL to remain at Rice-Eccles Stadium "until they can afford a stadium of their own.""
Nice...can someone find the information about tax status at Rice-Eccles? If I remember correctly, RES will lose it's tax free status if RSL is there after 2007. Point 2: He would like RSL to remain in a building not made for the purpose (aside: I love idiots who try to say the field size and surface are adequate) and which is too expensive for the team to stay in long-term because there is no way to break even. So here is his theory in a nut shell: Unlike what we did for Larry, we want RSL to stay in a bad building until they can pay for the whole deal on their own and the county and Sandy get to reap the benefits (taxes and spending) for free. Good plan Mr. Stephenson.

Those of us in education have had to deal with Mr. Stephenson's "forward thinking" for years.

Since when is it ok to put players at risk?
Field turf designed for pointy ball is not a long term solution. So what he is saying, not only should RSL not get the same deal Larry Miller got, and not only should RSL never turn a profit along with RES losing tax free status... but we should only contract players that are willing to risk serious injury on a daily basis on the field turf. That guy is a complete idiot and he should not be allowed to participate in conversations with logical and reasoning people... ever. Last edited by Deuce : 02-28-2006 at 08:49 AM.
