My Suggested Changes for the Loyalists in 2006. Hey everyone.
I was just wondering, what are some of the changes that have been made to the Loyalists bunch this year? Did anyone ever try to talk to the head of Real Salt Lake or Rice Eccles Stadium and try to get the group to move the general addmission section behind the goal? I have to say, I like what you guys have done in creating this group. It was good seeing someone making noise at an american futbol game. I have to make some reccomendations though. I would defienantly say, try to move to the section behind the goal. That's where all the action is. I know that in Buenos Aires, our supporters group was always behind the goal at "El Monumental" stadium. We created, and I know you've seen photos of the awsome shows that we put on, for all the world to see, while we supported our one and only beloved team............River Plate!! When I went to the games here in Salt Lake, I was dissapointed, yet I had assumed it anyway, to see no one making noise and chanting, or waving flags and banners, in the stadium, except for a very small group of people in one of the corner flag sections. It is cool to see someone trying, yet I couldn't help but laugh at the same time. I don't want to bash on anyone, because I could defienantly do that, but I am a nice guy. I just can't bare to see a bunch of want to be's out there at the games. If you are going to have a supporters group, you must have at least almost a full stadium section of people in it. I would just like to see more people get involved with the games, and make some noise!! Come on!! Even though, you are one of the worst futbol supporting countries in the world, and will never ever be able to compare yourselves to other teams supporters, you must at least try to do something. What you should do, is try and get permission to be able to use colored smoke from fire extienguishers, use huge drap over banners, tons of flags, banners, umbrellas, scarves, inflattable noise makers, colored paper, and a lot more. If you could at least put on a five minuite show before the start of the game, I'm sure that everyone would be pleased, and that other fans would learn to love it and get pumped up, and the team would also get pumped up. If you did this, you would also be the first team in the MLS to put on a show like it, and that would mean alot for both the team's future as well as the fans' reputation. I would also make a stand up only section during the games, the popular section as we call it. If you need help coming up with ideas, just search online for River Plate and you will see some wonderful photos. Well, thanks for taking the time to read this post, and I hope that I get some replies!! Take care everyone, and lets make this a season in history for Real Salt Lake and the MLS!!

I love your enthusiasm, uroffside. :dancing: The "full stadium section" of supporters has to be built one person at a time, so bring your passion over to join us next season and we'll be that much closer!

We're all with you on those ideas.
Unfortunately, Umbrellas, Smoke and Fire, and many noisemakers, like whistles, are not allowed in the stadium. We do our best with what we can. We could be worse off, there are places in MLS where things as simple as flags are banned. We've tried to stretch the rules in the past, and had items confiscated, or people thrown out of the stadium. Maybe when our section is large enough, we'll be able to overwhelm them, and get away with it. For now, we have tons of flags, we may well have more flags than people to wave them. Just ask The Cup, he has four or five 10 foot flags. He definitely can't wave them all himself. Why not come over and give him a hand? I've said it before, the section is GA, anyone can come, no matter where your tickets are for. Everyone is invited. Loyalist or no. Come help us make noise and support the team. If anyone really cares to help, go to theloyalists.com and sign in. In the members only section there is a place to volunteer to help create the greatest atmosphere in MLS...and indeed, the world.

BTW, I'm boquense til I die, just like I'm RSL til I die. Gallinas are gallinas, and no one can convince me that River is worth anything better than 2nd place. Don't talk to me about history. Don't talk to me about records. Boca is it, Real Salt Lake is it. That's all I need. :rei: Geoff PS - I can wave flags. I can bring pots and pans, too. I don't know how often I will be there in Rice Eccles this year, but I'm going to do my best.
