Goodbye Robert Scarlett

I'm surprised nobody else has posted this yet.

It looks like the main focus of the team is fitness right now, which is great! It seemed like so many times the team would just run out of gas late in the second half and have nothing left.

Too bad Robert couldn't stick around, though. He was exciting to watch, and I loved the Rastafarian feel with Jamaicans and T&T boys on the field. I'm crossing my fingers that we can get a draft pick for him, since we've already given away most of our own.

Yea, I think most of us saw that one coming, but I'm still just a little disappointed.

I think our last 3 cuts come down to Adam Acosta, Kevin Novak (and not because we mistook him for racist Coach Nowak) and Chase Harrison.

Leaving us with these 10 Developmental squad players.
Jamie Watson FW
Jeff Rowland FW
Atiba Harris FW
Mehdi Ballouchy MF
Nikolas Besagno MF
Christian Jimenez MF
Ryan Johnson MF
Cameron Knowles DF
Willis Forko DF
Noah Palmer GK

These are all subject to change since I couldn't pick a couple of these guys out of a lineup... Sheer speculation on my part.

Well...so....according to the roster the article shows at the bottom...does that mean we have our team and no more cuts (aside from the two they mention that are joining us in camp)?

Nope we are allowed 10 Developmental roster spots and that list has 13 players.

RSL Developmental Roster (10 max)
Adam Acosta, * Mehdi Ballouchy, * Nikolas Besagno, Willis Forko, Atiba Harris, Chase Harrison, *Christian Jimenez, Ryan Johnson, Cameron Knowles, Kevin Novak, Noah Palmer, Jeff Rowland, * Jamie Watson.

* — generation adidas players who are guaranteed developmental roster spots

Johnson or Forko over Novak? I can't believe that. Novak was one of the postive highlights from last year.
Acosta has done will in the Reserve Squad as a unofficial member but he might be too old to get on the Dev roster now (24). ANd of course we don't need 4 goalies, so Harrison is out.

And I hope RSL is able to trade Scarlett and I am not happy to see him go. Hopefully he'll get to a new team before the season starts.

It looked to me from the breakdowns that Ryan Johnson was getting a lot more playing time than Novak. Maybe Forko is odd man out since Klein might be gone to Germany and that leaves us a little thin at Right Mid.

To me that sounds like Novak is here to stay. During the evaluation period, I think Coach E will not play someone he knows he’s going to keep. The ones fighting for a roster spot get more playing time.

Novak was looking good when he was out there. I think with some more expereince he could be a solid part of our line up. I hope that he doesn't get the heave ho.

Yea I hope Novak stays also. In the line up in the article I was thinking the guys with stars didnt count towards the 10, sorry. It should be an interesting year.
