FIFA considering rule changes. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=358798&cc=5901
One proposed rule change is 'Any player who intentionally interferes with the ball to prevent an opponent from restarting play at a free kick, throw-in, corner etc., will receive a yellow card'. Personally, I think this is a good rule change. I hate seeing players pick up the ball after a foul in order to stall the game while they argue with the ref. It also bugs me when a player has obviously played the ball out of bounds and then he picks it up as if it is his throw-in. When he finally gets told be the ref that it is not is, he tosses it away instead of handing it to the other team. Cheap.

Now if they would only get rid of time wasting in American Football...no knees here, folks! Our boys play to the bitter end!
These rule changes are pretty exciting. Trying to take the "cheap" out of soccer. I like it! Did anyone notice the rule changes for MLS 2006? :rei: Geoff
