Joey Worthen to DC?

Utah's own Worthen, who was singled out by Pastorino at the Unveiling in 2004, has signed with DC United. Sad for RSL, great for Joey.

The Minnesota Thunder have gone to pushing some Minnesota-raised players again. They're not going Chivas and having it be 100%. And they're not using it as part of a marketing campaign so much as trying to get that worked in to their "long term"image. It would be nice to see RSL take advantage of those opportunities when they had a chance.

I hope JW fares well in DC.

True, but I think at this point all 3 are in jeopardy of not making the team. In fact Acosta and Sackett never really made the team and have been essentialy playing for free.
I would love to see these local boys make it, but I seriously doubt it at this point.
Please, make me wrong here.

For what it's worth: While we were watching the reserve game in Denver, Dunseth told us he thinks Adam Acosta is going to be a star in MLS.

Yes, That is what Dunseth said. I heard him say it!

Yes I remember the report. I dearly hope it comes true. If anything, maybe Dunny can convince his new team to take a chance if RSL doesn't.

I cant believe that RSL let Joey slip out of their hands. They beat around the bush until the day that DC called Joey and invited him to their preseason training camp, and as soon as that happened they called and suddenly wanted to sign him. oh well, i just wish he could have finally played at home. I can almost guarantee that he will make it on the field for DC's first team and when he does we will all see what we missed out on. I am just glad that he is finally getting his chance in MLS.
