It was interesting that on the news tonight, Al Mansell said something to the effect of "When I read the bill, I realized there was a lot in it that was kind of over the top," and I thought, "When you READ the bill?" I realize that our legislators are just bill-carrying toadies, but they usually at least lie about having actually written them themselves. I wouldn't mind if I thought that it was his staff that had written it, based on ideas he'd had, but I don't think that's what's going on here. It's the developers' writing the bill, and giving it to their old pal Al to get it enacted.
All I can say is :banpoop:

Here's the amazing thing about this bill.
It was sponsored by Al Mansell (real estate multi millionaire) written by the law firm of House Speaker Greg Curtis for Greg Curtis' client Anderson Developers and a few others It includes specific things that a few developers are currently having legal problems over specifically, the 600 foot cul de sac. Utah's problem is that we have no real rules governing behavior, conflict of interest, ethics, etc. We all know this thanks to our stadium.
