This is why I love RSL's fan support, and especially the fan clubs. What tangibles do fans bring to MLB, the NFL, and the NBA? A good crowd can maybe pump up the home team and make it difficult for the away team to communicate. That's about it. But in MLS, a good crowd can make other teams' players want to sign up. How many times has an NBA player said he wants to be traded to one of the worst teams in the league because of the fans? I bet it's not many.

Now we've got Klein who's excited to be here because of the fans, Cunningham who's in the same boat. Donovan has even said he'd like to play here because of fan support. I think the Loyalists, RCB, Section 37, etc. are having more bearing on RSL's future success than you realize, so keep it up!

Klein's first glimpse of the "other side" was an unforgettable August night in Salt Lake City. For RSL fans, they'll remember it as the night Jason Kreis scored his 100th career goal. For Klein, he was most impressed by the Salt Lake supporters.
Trailing 3-0 early in the second half, RSL could've easily packed it in the final half hour. The club did just the opposite. Spurred on by the energetic home crowd — ironically enough the smallest of the season — it rallied and cut the deficit to 3-2 on Kreis' 100th career goal in the 72nd minute.
Even though the Wizards hung on for the 4-2 win, the Rice-Eccles Stadium crowd made a lasting impression on the visiting players.
"It was the only time we could remember the crowd actually playing a part in the game, and in this country you don't see that too often," said Klein. "We were back on our heels the last 30 minutes of the game largely because the crowd was going."

That was an amazing game.

And had it not been for bad officiating that game would have been tied up 3-3. That was the game when KC's goalkeeper knocked the ball into his own net but the *@#/ ref said Kreis and interfered with him where on replay it shows he had not.

Vengence will be sweet this year.

I love reading stuff like this! Gets me all excited for this upcoming season - even though I'm still not sure how many games I'll be able to attend yet...

That was a great game. I couldn't believe it when the ref took back that goal.

Also, it's nice to hear from Klein, of the visiting team, that we, the fans, made that game what it was... that we forced them to play the full 90 minutes. It's nice to know that we matter (even the smallest crowd of the season).
