http://www.sltrib.com/search/ci_3428329 AFL in Utah: Will it fly? http://www.sltrib.com/search/ci_3426839 the Blaze surpassed 7,000 in season ticket sales last week, a couple thousand more season tickets than Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake sold last spring for its first season. He said the Blaze "are on a pace to go north of 8,000 before the season starts." Officials are expecting a sellout crowd of more than 13,000 for the Blaze's Feb. 4 home opener against the Dallas Desperados.

It's cute how they compare the season ticket sales for the Blaze against those of RSL.
They have sold nearly 8,000 where RSL only sold 5,000. However, it fails to mention that with RSL's season ticket program you get 20 games so the cheapest season ticket package you can get will run you $200. The Blaze's home schedule is only 8 games. If you throw in a couple of extra tickets to make it 10 games, their cheapest seats are $10 so that comes to $100. (I got mad math skills) So in reality they have only sold 4,000 season ticket programs equal to those of RSL. We're still better.

-The Garff family owns the Blaze.
-The Larry owns the Delta Center. How much must Larry hate Dave Checketts if he is willing to rent out the Delta Center to a competitor just because he has events at roughly the same time as Dave Checketts. PS: Larry, my sister-in-law went to see Brokeback Mountain yesterday. She said that the theater was almost full.
