Ward and Schmid together again

Crew deal veteran midfielder Henderson

How does this fit with the rumor of Schmid trading up in the draft to get Wynne? Schmid would have two of his U-20 defenders on the club if they ended up with Wynne.

I'd say in a way it doesn't fit. Seems like the Crew are clearing out their midfield. Manny Lagos retired (he's back with the MN Thunder in their front office). As this article points out, Henderson is off to the m-stars. Simon Elliot left on a free (joined Fulham). And IIRC Szetzela [sic] is gone, too. That means Kyle Martino is the oldest pure midfielder they have.

Sigi's up to something but my guess is that he's looking to add to his midfield before he adds to his defense.

I agree with Prk166, why draft Wynne, a defender if you just got a even younger Tim Ward as a defender?
My money is on Crew going after a midfielder. Probably a former U20 player (Sigi's old team).

And I forgot to mention they had picked up 2 experienced defenders in Kitamirike and Gonzalez.

And now it' looks like they're rolling the dice and signing Rozental to play up top. I think they're looking for a midfielder at thi spoint.

The Crew haven't traded with Chivas for a pick, so why does it matter? I think we should be worrying about Chivas' pick.
