Houston: Here's the name contest MLSnet now has a naming contest posted, complete with 13 -- yes, unlucky as it might be -- names to choose from, none of which is Republic or Raven or Lokomotiv.

Well, the first set of names totally sucks. And I dont like Republic...lol When I think of Houston I think of Space and Bush....Houston Space Bushes? LOL When I think of Texas I think YUCK! Hmmm perhaps Republic (Republicans) is appropriate for where this country is going right now. How about Houston Homers? Houston Terrorists? Houston Steelers? LOL sorry to have such a bad attitude. I am sad to see them leaving SJ, but then, no one there stepped up to keep them there did they? Speaking of SJ...any news on DJ?

Being from Pennsylvania, I am hoping on Eagles.
But I really don't like any of them. Houston Republic FC at least sounds Euro.

Boy, I thought FaKe SaLt LaKe was bad, but that looks good compared to a number of these choices. Apollos? Toros?

If naming them the Generals makes them play and win like the Washington Generals, then I say go for it! 😉

Hey, if they named them the Toros, I could get years of Bring It On jokes out of it, at the very least...
"Brrr, it's cold in here! There must be some Toros in the atmosphere! I said oh-ee-oh-ee-oh, ice ice ice, oh-ee-oh-ee-oh, break it down!"

"We are the Toros, the mighty, mighty Toros!"
