Now if only RSL could get this kind of agreement.

Chinese football really needs this shot in the arm. I have been to 5 or 6 matches in China in the last couple of years, and the attendance has always been pretty week.

It will be interesting to see how this develops. In much of China right now there is a rush to develop. There is less of an emphasis on putting things developed by foreign influxes of cash to good use. Maybe the fact that this will be occurring in high-profile Bejing will help it be successful. In lessor-known Guangzhou (still a HUGE city) there are 4 soccer stadiums I think.

Is this part of the Real Madrid "academy" system that they announced last summer?
The one involving having one in Miami, FL too?

Why are we Real?
We are not even associated with them.
This sucks.
We should be named The Utah Highlanders

I am Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod. I was born in 1518 in the village of Glenfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel. I now play football in Salt Lake. And I am immortal.

If Ronaldo, Zidane, Beckham, etc sign some autographs & run some training sessions for some bigshots' kids; maybe those same bigshots won't laugh when Real Madrid asks for help with counterfeits & copyright violations.

Jose Luis Luviano ---> Love the trainspotting quote. Have you read the novel by Irvine Welsh?

As for China, ya, I don't know what these teams look to get out of it. I suppose they're looking to build a base and get eyeballs on TV. As pointed out, counterfitting is bad. There isn't a culture of ownership there; the idea that Real Madrid owns it's name, badge and image. So that if I make a Real Madrid kit based off of the current design without permission, there isn't an engrained idea that it's wrong. That is going to have to change for these teams to make money in the region in the long run.
