Maybe Bruce Arena can call up some Daleks for the USMNT.

They probably aren't cap-tied to any other country & I bet they would be tough on the back line.

Here's Connelly's take on the draft

Fire reap richest haul

Real Salt Lake -- For a team that needs players to help them right away, it's hard to imagine a situation where either Nik Besagno, Jamie Watson or Jay Nolly - the side's first three selections - does just that. John Ellinger's side might have been better off trading the top pick to Los Angeles, who made a move for it, and taking Besagno later in the first round, since hardly any other teams viewed the young midfielder as a first-round player.

The fact that Ellinger took Watson, his former player, over another Generation adidas player like Will John left one coach I spoke with shortly after the draft scratching his head.

"Watson should have stayed in school, and John (Ellinger) goes and picks him over a talent like Will John," he said. "If you want to take a chance on a young player, take it on a scorer with athleticism. I just didn't get what Real Salt Lake were doing all day, to be honest."

Ditto.

Interesting was not the word that came to mind when I read that, but hey I may have missed the sarcasm font in your post! 😉

It was a well written article, but it seems to take the same Chivas ar great, RSL Sucks approach that the pundits seem so fond of. Personally, I'll wait until game day.

I just hope we do well in Tampa or we're going to catch hell from all over the place till we play at Giants Stadium.

Actually for a real good draft read, read Wheellock at FoxSports. He says the truth. I feel Sean is a real MLS fan. The other soccer writers always seem to take the "anything thats not done the Euro way sucks" attitude.

Over at MLSNet.com, Sigi has a few complaints about our draft.

The guy that drafted Guillermo Gonzalez is complaining about our draft?
