Hannover 96 and RSL Hello everybody! 👋
I´m a Hannover 96 supporter from Germany. Clint Mathis used to play there and Steven Cherundolo still does. The Bundesliga is in week 11 out of 34 right now and next year Hannover will be among the World Cup host cities. 😎 Our local newspapers reported that RSL officials (GM and head coach?) visited Hannover this week. There are rumours that some RSL players will join us for practising and that Hannover 96 will visit Salt Lake City in May 2006. The Bundesliga season will end in mid-May and then most teams will play some friendlies. So, may be those friendlies will take place in Utah. Obviously, one has to consider the costs of traveling and some of our players would rather prepare for the World Cup and not take the trip. But we have heard about this planned partnership a few times now. :gossip: Did you hear about those plans already? Bye for now. Cheers! :signcheer Click here to visit the Hannover 96 fanmag English Section (Title edited) Last edited by Dolo : 10-28-2005 at 08:08 AM.

Welcome to the forum. I have heard the rumour about players going to Hannover in the MLS off-season. It is rumoured that Jay Nolly(GK), Kevin Novak (DF/MF) and Jamie Watson (F) will be training with your club very soon. I think it is great that our players are getting the chance to train there. There has been much talk, especially around the time Mathis came here from Hannover, that your club will be playing at least one friendly here.

Thanx.
They will be training at Hannover for 14 days. ⚽ And with so many US soccer players joining the European clubs these days there is at least a slight probability that one of those players will join our team in the future. I do not expect any of the three to play for Hannover 96 immediately, though. We have one of the best goalies in the world, that is Robert Enke, and Frank Juric, who is Australian. I also do not think that we will sign a talented forward in the near future. However, a midfielder like Kevin Novak could be an interesting player for the next season. And we have heard about two teams that we could play a friendly with. The teams are RSL and FC Dallas.

👍 Let me welcome you to our forum, as well.
Yes, we have heard a little about it, at the beginning of the year, when we got Clint Mathis. But I don't recall hearing anything more about it, since then. At this point, it will be next year before it becomes a current issue, anyway. __________________

Welcome!
The only German I know is "Ich moechte ein Bier, bitte" and "Du hast sehr schoenen Augen, meine Schatzie". So I would be very interested in finding out more about Hannover.

Coach E, on 1280 this morning, indicated that it would be Kenny Cutler, and not Kevin Novak. __________________

With the dollar Cratering Out compared the Euro, it would probably cost a Bundesliga team less to train in Park City than it would to train in their own facilities. Here's another wacky idea...... Vegas baby! A Bundesliga team would probably love to hit up Vegas during their winter break. Sam Boyd Stadium is only 55 yards wide, so that's out. Maybe they could set up temporary stands at UNLV or I think that there's a big soccer complex down there.

Vegas? Don´t think so. That is a nice place for a vacation. Our manager could tell you that. The trip in late may 2006 would rather include Salt Lake City and Dallas. But only if RSL and Hannover decide to cooperate closer.
Let´s wait and see how the off-season training for the RSL players works out.
