I seem to remember hearing that nickname used in the Money Magazine article, too.

I object! How can anyone be awarded Player of the Year, after doing NOTHING for the first half of the season? Has everyone forgotten his lack of energy and effort for the first half of the season?

He finished up the season playing well. True. But that doesn't make up for the first half of the season, in which he did absolutely nothing.

There are those on the team that worked their tails off for the whole season, who deserve it much more.

Jason Kreis, 9 goals 4 assists, worked hard all year long.
Chris Brown, 1 goal 1 assist, but played many positions, filling in where needed.
Brian Dunseth, 2 goals 0 assists, A mainstay and stalwart throughout the year.
Brian Kamler, 0 goals 0 assists, worked hard all year.
Jamie Watson, 2 goals 1 assist, Super Sub, Hard working player.

Both Andy Williams and Clint Mathis have higher numbers, but neither was very productive until the very end of the season. That kind of effort doesn't get you the Man of the Year award. That kind of effort gets you, "Well maybe you can stay for another year, after all", and "We'll see how you do next year".

But you gotta say it with a Jamaican accent so it sounds like "Bom-ma" or something like that anyway...

He is nicknamed the 'Bomber' for his tricky footwork and his explosive shooting...

Was anyone aware of the team's annual award ceremony? What other awards were there?

Defensive poy: Eddie Pope, and Kreis won something as well.

It was the first few games of the season that he struggled, not the entire first half.

Putting him in the same category of Cleeeeetus is totally unwarranted. 🙄

Okay, maybe I exagerated just a LITTLE. 😉 But my point is, there are those who did more for the team and put forth more effort, at least apparent effort.

Well, if you were voting for "Team Player of the Year", then you would have a point...

But Andy Williams has been practically the sole catalyst for our attack since June, so I don't think it's accurate to imply that he didn't do much for the team.
