Although I admit, there is a seething hatred for the Chivas, and I can't really put a finger on why that is, I guess partly their dirty play, their "here comes futbol" attitude...but I just don't care that much about the Krapids.

But San Jose went from worst to first a few years back. Too much partity-mediocrity in the league to have a "good" team be the rival. DC could go through another span of awfulness and Sampson is doing a crack job of deconstructing the Gals. Everything will change sooner or later. At least our team better turn it around!

Really good rivalries take time to develop. Crapid fans see RSL fans as a threat. They are into it. Even if everyone's not into it eventually I hope we can take the RMC and keep it from them based on having a more successful team. And I know the crapid players enjoyed playing in front of a great crowd instead of a place where the scoreboard says "It's a cornerkick! Get up and make some noise!" Electronic cheerleaders are no better than silicone ones.

Only if Jackson Hole or Ogden get a team. Chivas need to get their San Gabriel Mts. Cup organized.

I don't mind a 3rd team joining the RMC and making it C15 but NOT Chivas... there are better, more deserving teams out there... Maybe when Seattle gets a team.
Maybe the Gals! But NEVER chivas!

Hey i don't want it any more than you do but Jules is calling for a 3rd team in the RMC comp... If we have Chivas(puking just a lot) we have to invite Gals and as someone suggested.... LA is not on any rocky mountain map I have ever seen.

C15 or c20 scary but if we want to add teams it will have to have equal representation from each team fan group.

CRapids are our geo rival and that's not a bad way to begin. I takes some history and maybe even some controversy to move it beyond that. Just give a little more maturation time.

Haven't spent way too much of my life in California, Both North and South, I can tell you that NoCal-SoCal will always make a rivalry but it will only get intense based on what happens on the field--or stands--of play.

The California Derby was completely one-sided for it's first five years, but it was still a game you circled on your calendar. You were playing the NoCals and all those wine-sipping, pretentious, unwashed Berserkleyites.

Since then the game on the field has more than caught up and tonight's game will be as intense as any that didn't otherwise matter for the Galaxy. And we all remember the last couple of games in San Jose.

I'm not "calling for" Chivas. I just threw it out there for two seconds.

And I'd be much more likely to call for C10 restructuring down to C6 for next year than anything else. Talk about headaches! 🙂

edit: 10 people were good for the inaugural year, but there will be a lot less work next year, so I really don't see why 10 people would be needed.

And I don't think any third team should be added to the rivalry. That would just create logistical nightmares as far as when to present the trophy, etc. etc. But I do think it's a cool idea because we all hate Chivas so much.

I agree. Let's leave well enough alone. It'll take some time for his rivalry to develop.
